Story
Sadly in June of this year we lost Rufus Brooks. He was one of my closest friends, as well as a course mate and an LAS colleague.
Ru LOVED running and LOVED being a Paramedic. Ru was keen for anything paramedic related and he really cared about all the people and patients he interacted with. His own personal paramedic journey was cut too short but I know he would’ve loved the thought of running for a charity that helps all ambulance staff to continue and grow their careers.
I can’t promise I’ll be as fast or as tight n bright as Ru when he used to run but I’ll be giving it my best shot. Since he passed, I’ve been working towards running 1000km over the year in memory of him so this event will help towards two goals! Life certainly has been different since June but running has been a nice way to dedicate time to think about Ru whilst doing something he loved.
It would be difficult to say which he loved more out of being a Paramedic, Running and ambulance charities so this seems like the perfect event to run for him and raise some money for an amazing cause. Anything that you can spare will go a long way to supporting an excellent charity that helps us to do our jobs every day.
I am taking on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 for the London Ambulance Charity.
The London Ambulance Charity supports the incredible staff and volunteers of the London Ambulance Service, supporting their physical and mental well-being with a range of initiatives from well being support trucks to station upgrades.
Please support me in my mission to help save even more lives.
