A powerful storm in Libya has caused two dams to collapse, causing catastrophic damage in the north-east city of Derna. More than 3,500 people are reported dead, and 9,000 are reported missing. Help UNICEF reach children and families affected.

Story

In conflict and disaster, children suffer first and suffer most.

In early September, a powerful earthquake struck Morocco. A few days later Storm Daniel ripped through Libya. The deadly storm caused two dams to collapse near the port of Derna, leading to catastrophic floods.

Thousands of people have been reported dead or missing. Over 400,000 children have been affected and the numbers are rising.

In the wake of these emergencies, UNICEF is coordinating closely with local authorities and partners to help ensure children and families receive the critical support and services they need.

Donations can make an enormous difference in helping UNICEF to provide life-saving assistance.

Please give what you can.
