Story

Although compassion involves empathy, it doesn’t stop there. Empathy is the emotional response that one has to someone else’s experience - in other words, the ability to put yourself in another’s shoes. Most people have empathy, but not everyone will respond to that empathy. Compassion has to include that response. The one profession that breathes life into compassion and empathy is nursing. Our 2024 GLAMMY AWARD journey introduces us to an extraordinary nurse, mom, daughter, wife, and friend, Elysa Weisel.

It takes a very special person to dedicate ten years of professional commitment to oncological nursing and working with hospice patients as they transition into the last stage of life could be the most difficult as well as the most rewarding career choice a nurse could make. It takes a strong, compassionate, empathetic individual to accompany the sick and frail on their final journey. Those adjectives define Elysa.

Elysa didn’t have an easy path. She gave birth to her first child, daughter Ryleigh when she was just nineteen years old. With the support of her extraordinary parents and deep faith, Elysa graduated from nursing school, raised Ryleigh, married the man of her dreams, Garrett, and gave birth to two more beautiful boys, Connor and Jackson.

Most people would expect the story to end there with a ‘happily ever after’. The very long hours of oncology nursing kept her away from her young children and her husband. She knew there was more she could do to help people and still have time to watch her children grow up and spend quality time with her family.

She joined forces with her husband, and together, they launched Next LVL Infusion. Vitamin therapy is a popular health and wellness trend that can be considered a holistic approach to nourishing the body. The therapy involves delivering a concentrated mixture of vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream through an IV drip, which can lead to higher absorption rates than oral supplements. As a fully mobile infusion company, they can serve clients in need of vitamin infusions for dehydration, energy, anti-aging, medical weight loss, and those who have trouble swallowing vitamins. Through hard work and a genuine desire to help people, Elysa and Garrett have grown their business to include additional nurses and serve the entire South Florida tri-county area by bringing holistic healing to more clients.

In Elysa’s words, ‘it’s incredibly rewarding to see people getting better in front of my eyes. I had one client who was thirteen days post-COVID and was still extremely exhausted and weak. She simply couldn’t shake the side effects. Within one hour of the infusion, her color was back, and she had more energy than she had in the past two weeks. She went from lifeless to energized within 60 minutes. This is why I do what I do. My life is filled with rewarding moments.”

We gratefully welcome Elysa Weisel as a 2024 GLAMMY AWARD honoree, and we know she will help build a much healthier community through her business and spirit of compassion!
