On 17th September 2021 we helped Butoke to launch the Elsa Corp Justice Project to help victims of sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) where Butoke works (https://thefriendsofbutokecharity.com/elsa-corp-justice-project/). Across 2021 and 2022, we raised over $15,700 AUD, 100% of which went to 21 girls for medical treatment, food, clothing, and legal fees to prosecute their attackers. Now, as 2023 draws to a close, the project is in need of more money to help more victims of sexual violence over the next 12 months.

All the girls live in impoverished communities with very few resources, and the assistance Butoke has provided to them has made a real difference to their lives.
