Story
Memory making can facilitate families to continue the bond with their child who has died, in an inspiring and comforting way. Photographs and physical remembrances such as a lock of hair or a handprint, demonstrate tangible evidence of a child or young person’s life.
As a Play Team, we provide families with mementoes of a child or young person during end of life care or who have sadly passed away. This includes: hand casts, painted, inkless and clay hand and footprints, locks of hair, prints for jewellery making kits, as well as any family requests.
Good bereavement care offers a small amount of comfort at the worst possible time of a family’s life. It is a privilege to be able to offer this vital memory making service to grieving families. However In order to improve their bereavement experience, we must have the funds to access these important resources. Therefore, the paediatric team are raising money to continue and develop this crucial service.
On Sunday 14th July, members of the paediatric multidisciplinary team will be embarking on a 12 mile walk across the Malvern Hills . Any support would be gratefully received for this hugely important cause!
