Story
I work for the ambulance service and on New Year’s Day 2023 I was involved in a serious RTC on the way home from a night shift. Along with other injuries, I broke my neck and parts of my spine. After having to learn to walk again, I will never take the ability to move my body for granted, so this year I am running 100K every month to raise money the Acute Rehabilitation Trauma Unit at Royal Stoke Hospital, who helped in my recovery. Along with other fundraisers, all the money raised will help fund important equipment, new facilities, pioneering research, and to make a difference to patients, their families, and staff who care for them on the unit.
I will also be running to honor those from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Staffordshire Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service, and Merit, who helped save my life.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference.
