Story
Hi, and thank you for taking the time to view this page.
On the 14th September a group of us will be walking the Yorkshire 3 peaks in aid of the Mental Health charity Mind.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a 24-mile (38.6km) hike, involving the climbing of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres) in a single day.
Mind is a mental health charity in England and Wales, that offers information and advice to people struggling with their mental health and campaigns to ensure the right support and services are accessible to those who need them.
Raising awareness for mental health is something I am very passionate about. We will all know of someone, be that a friend or family member who has struggled with their mental health. 1 in 4 of us will experience mental health problems, however many people will struggle to access the right support and services they need, and this has been even more difficult since Covid.
One in three UK adults report their mental health has deteriorated because of the pandemic, and the number of young people experiencing anxiety and depression has almost doubled. Due to this there has been an increase in the demand on mental health services, one that service providers are struggling to meet.
This is why the work that Mind carry out is so important. They provide emergency advice; crisis support and assistance accessing mental health resources for those who need it. Without these important services millions of people would be left isolated and unable to access the correct support.
Any contributions that can be spared towards this cause is really appreciated!
