We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

I am deeply saddened to share that I am losing my grandma to dementia, a devastating illness that has gradually stolen her memories and independence. Throughout her battle, we have witnessed firsthand the profound impact dementia can have, not just on those diagnosed, but also on family and caregivers.

It has been incredibly heartbreaking to watch her deteriorate over the years, but her love and warmth has never faded, and her incredible sense of humour shines through even in the toughest moments. My grandma holds a special place in my heart, and our bond is something I have always cherished.

In honour of my beautiful granny Betty, I have decided to run the Worcester half Marathon on the 15th September 2024 to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society. Your generous donations will help provide vital support for those affected by dementia and contribute to ongoing research efforts to find a cure.

’Everytime we wave goodbye,

I feel a sense of sorrow,

because I know a piece of you,

won’t be there tomorrow’

Thank you for all the support.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
