Story
On the 22nd of august 2021, all of our lives were turned upside down when my sister Ashlyne and Nephew Iain were in a life changing accident in Occumster. This accident took the life of our beloved nephew Iain weeks before his 3rd birthday and left my sister in critical condition fighting for her life for months after the accident sustaining life changing injuries. Without the Scottish Charity Air ambulance none of our family would have had the chance to say goodbye to our nephew and our sister would not be here today as she required immediate life saving surgery over 100miles away. Living in the area we do, the service the SCAA provide and will continue to be life saving with the nearest hospital providing life saving care over 100miles away. As a family we are trying to raise as much money as possible so the Scottish charity air ambulance (SCAA) can continue to do the incredible work they do and to thank them for what they have done for us as a family. On the 19th of August my husband Luke and our parents Rebecca and Daren will be taking part in a skydive from 10,000ft with st andrews skydive. For anyone that knows us, this is something we have been planning for since the accident and as a family we feel the time is right to do it before Iain’s birthday on the 10th of September 2023 when Iain would be turning five. All proceeds fundraised will go straight to the SCAA, as the skydives have already been paid for. On the day of the Jump’s there will be a livestream on facebook for those of you who wish to watch and a cheque will be presented to them with the total amount raised for this brilliant charity. As a family we will be grateful for any donations no matter how little they may be, as without the support of our local community and further afield the SCAA would not be able to continue to do the work they do.
