Story
I will be running the Battersea Half Marathon on 27th July for the Sycamore Trust. The Sycamore Trust is a local charity which supports individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Learning Difficulties, and their families.
The Sycamore Trust has helped my little sister Evie immensely over the past few years and has provided her with a space she feels safe and can be her true self with no judgement. After being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2020 the Sycamore Trust has provided lots of support to Evie and our family. Evie joined a girls club run by the Sycamore Trust and attends every Saturday. She has thrived here and it gives her the opportunity to mix with other girls with ASD. Evie has also attended outdoor activity week events the Trust put on during the school holidays, she was recently awarded a Jack Petchey Award for her amazing effort in one of the outdoor activity weeks.
The Sycamore Trust is a truly amazing charity and helps many other local children and adults with ASD and other learning difficulties. It provides them with a space they feel comfortable in and can meet likeminded individuals. It has helped my sister find a space she can be herself somewhere outside of the comfort of her own home, make new friends and become more confident in herself and her abilities and I’m so proud of how far she has come and the amazing girl she is growing up to become.
I am raising funds for the Sycamore Trust so that they can continue to help local individuals and families and would really appreciate any donations.
