Story
Welcome to my JustGiving page!
I'm thrilled to share with you an exciting endeavour I'm embarking on: the Trek Sahara challenge. This journey holds a profound significance for me, marking 40 remarkable years since I first stepped into the world of nursing. On 6th November 1984 was the date I started as a pupil nurse at Lewisham School of nursing- I went on to qualify as an enrolled nurse and so my nursing career started and developed. This challenge will be an opportunity to celebrate that, alongside Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice's 30th anniversary.
Trek Sahara promises an unforgettable adventure through the captivating yet rugged expanse of the Sahara desert. As I navigate through this awe-inspiring terrain, I'll be spending nights under the vast expanse of stars, confronting the elements, and embracing the essence of adventure. Yet, beyond personal triumphs, this expedition embodies our hospice's unwavering commitment to providing compassionate care to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses.
For three decades, the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice has stood as a pillar of hope, offering solace, respect, and support to countless patients and their families. However, sustaining these vital services requires substantial funding, with over £10 million needed annually to keep our doors open.
As we celebrate this significant milestone, I'm reaching out to you for your support. Your donation through JustGiving directly fuels our mission to raise over £6 million each year, ensuring that we can continue delivering personalised care and support to our community.
Together, let's honour the legacy of the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice and pave the way for a future where quality care remains accessible. Thank you for joining me on this extraordinary journey and for any steadfast support to celebrate my 40 years in nursing.
