Story
I am doing a Wing Walk on Sunday 18th August!
I will be stood on top of the wings of a 1942 Boeing Stearman aircraft and then flown around at a height of between 100ft and 700ft in the air. The aeroplane will be flying at speeds of between 80 and 110mph!
Every single penny raised will be donated to the charity Alex's Wish - to End Duchenne. This is a charity I am an ambassador for because I care for patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy as a nurse.
I am competing in the Ms Great Britain pageant and I will be fund-raising as much money as possible in the lead up to competing in the finals in October. I would love to be the overall winner for fundraising the most, and bring home the much coveted Charity Sash for 2024.
Thanks to my amazing friend Annie who organised a charity picnic in July, this Justgiving page had already amassed £648 donated by people attending the picnic. I'm so thankful for that. But I'd love to raise EVEN MORE for Alex's Wish by scaring myself crazy with the adrenaline fuelled challenge of a wingwalk. The money will also get me closer to winning the charity sash in the Ms GB pageant! Please sponsor me with whatever you can spare.
Alex's Wish is an award-winning charity based in the heart of the East Midlands, raising vital funds to help conquer an aggressive, fatal muscle wasting disease that affects 1 in every 3,500 boys born.
Alex's Wish's mission is to drive research and clinical trials to find transformative treatments and technologies for Duchenne. Their vision is to end Duchenne. Alex's Wish is a very small charity but to date they have raised over £2 million to fight Duchenne.
Without funding, our vision will not happen. Please help me raise money to end Duchenne!
