Story
This May, I am taking on the Leeds Half Marathon and I wanted to take this opportunity to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance Service in memory of one of my closest friends, Matt.
On the 28th July 2024, the lives of many changed forever when Matt was killed in a plane crash of the light aircraft he was piloting.
Running was a passion we shared and this race is my way of making him proud. Our little run club doesn’t quite feel the same without him. I know he’d be cheering me on and probably strolling alongside too ;)
The Great North Air Ambulance Service is a charity that provides life-saving care across the North East, Cumbria, North Yorkshire and the Isle of Man. They receive no NHS funding, relying solely on donations to keep their helicopters in the air. Although it was too late for Matt, the work they do is truly invaluable.
So if you can spare anything, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps this incredible charity.
This one’s for you, Matt. ❤️
