50k run throughout January

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.

Story

Hey everyone, this January I’m running 50k in total over the month to raise money for CFS/ME research.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, otherwise known as ME, is a debilitating illness that causes extreme physical and mental tiredness that does not go away with sleep, and has no cure.

My mum is the strongest person I know, and was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue around 17 years ago. It’s very hard to see someone so close to you being unable to leave bed for days at a time and have issues with thinking and speech.

The illness often isn’t taken seriously or properly understood, which is why more research is desperately needed. While there isn’t much hope in finding a cure, I hope to donate the money to the ME Association, which is a charity that aims to improve the quality of life of anyone with ME.
