In celebration of me being one year cancer free, me and my parents have decided to run the London landmarks half marathon on the 6th of April for Bone Cancer Research Trust!

In early 2023 I was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma (in my middle finger of all places!) which was terrifying as I knew next to nothing about it. I had to have intense chemo for most of that year and a surgery that meant amputating my finger. I am so so grateful to all the research that allowed me to be here today, healthy and cancer free - and I want to do all I can to make that a possibility for others.

Bone cancer research trust is an amazing charity helping those affected by primary bone cancer. Because this type of cancer is relatively rare, there is limited funding going towards progressing treatment. The importance of supporting this charity can’t be overstated as it helps fund the development of new drugs and treatment strategies. Its research into causes and treatment helps save lives, and it needs support to help make a difference for people with a diagnosis like mine.

This time last year I could barely walk up the stairs without needing a rest, so I’m really looking forward to being able to do this run with both my parents who have been such an amazing support! I’ve found running an amazing step in my recovery journey so to run such a distance for a cause that means so much to me is really special.
