Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've chosen to complete the Swim for Sarcoma UK challenge, swimming 15km in 31 days for Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
Until last year, when I was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma in my thigh bone, I knew very little about this very rare form of cancer. It develops in the bone or soft tissue and is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat.
I have been incredibly fortunate to be treated by the highly specialised medical team at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore and, following surgery and amazing follow-up care, the outcome for me has been extremely positive.
I would like to show my gratitude for this by supporting Sarcoma UK's Swim 15km in October campaign. I plan to swim this distance over 10-12 sessions in two local 25m swimming pools during October.
I would be delighted if you could support this cause by donating whatever you can afford. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the specialist Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Thank you for your support!
