Story
So, anybody who knows me knows there are two things I absolutely hate: swimming and being cold. In 38 years of visiting Ray’s family on Long Island (in the summer), never once have I ventured into the ocean beyond my ankles. Never felt the need to end up shivering with sand in my cossie and seaweed in my hair. So, when it was suggested that to raise money for Prevent Breast Cancer we could go cold water swimming, I didn’t rush to find my snorkel. However, I said yes because it’s for a fantastic cause and I wanted to do something that genuinely throws me totally out of my comfort zone
Anything that you could donate, however large or small, will be very much appreciated. I always feel uncomfortable asking but, if you read below, you’ll see how it will change people’s lives.
Those of us who have been mad enough to sign up will be doing the swim on Thursday 20th June at The Farm Club, Pickmere. Photographic evidence will be posted-I’m sure it will be a smile you see through the gritted, frozen, shivering teeth?!?
Can’t thank you enough. X
