Story
The Sick Children’s Trust is a charity that provides a welcoming 'Home from Home' for families with a sick child in the hospital. We understand the challenges these families face, and we're here to support them every step of the way. Without our help, families would have to travel long distances, sleep in uncomfortable hospital chairs, or pay for expensive hotels just to be by their sick child's bedside.
But it's not just about alleviating financial worries. We also prioritize the mental well-being of the families we support. We know that having a sick child in the hospital can be incredibly stressful and emotionally draining. That's why our friendly and caring staff are always there, ready to lend a helping hand or simply provide a friendly face during those tough stays.
Myself and my team are taking part in the 'Home to Home Challenge', a 5-mile toddle walk, to raise money for this incredible charity. We've personally experienced the impact of their support when my youngest daughter was diagnosed with a serious liver condition at just 7 weeks old. The charity provided us with housing accommodation every step of the way, whether her hospital stays were brief or lengthy.
Leeds Ecklesly House became our second home during those challenging times. It meant my partner didn't have to endure a 100-mile round trip every day just to be with me and our daughter. The support we received from this charity was invaluable, not only for us but also for many other families facing similar situations.
No donation is too small; even £1 can make a difference. Please consider donating to our fundraising page as we all have one running. Your contribution will help ensure that more families can benefit from this vital support system.
