Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In September this year, my dad died from cancer. As all too many of you will know, cancer is a cruel disease which creeps up quietly and usually makes itself quite at home before making itself known.
My dad's treatment involved many trips to the hospitals in both Ayr & Kilmarnock. Ayrshire Cancer Support were wonderful and provided private transport to and from all appointments which made a huge difference to my parents, as neither of them drive. It was one less thing to worry about.
I want to say thank you to them by trying to raise some money so that they can support loads more people in making sure they can get to their vital appointments.
So, on the 3rd March 2024, I'll be hitting the streets of Tokyo and running the 26.2 miles of the Tokyo Marathon. I entered the ballot on a bit of whim and had zero expectations of being chosen. The shock at getting a spot was soon replaced by a determination to run it, run it well, and do it for my dad who is no doubt up on his cloud, looking down on me, and muttering "not another marathon Elizabeth?!".
So, if you can, I would be forever grateful if you could spare a few pounds and sponsor me on behalf of a wonderful little charity.
