Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Do you want to protect the environment or help people out of poverty? It doesn't have to be either/or. Tree Aid work with farmers in the drylands of the Sahel region of Africa, in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Ethiopia, where the soil is becoming degraded and is in danger of turning into desert, and farmers are finding it harder to make a living. They plant fruit and nut trees, as a way to prevent soil from being washed away, maintain a stable climate, and enable farmers to support themselves. Tree Aid don't plant trees and then abandon them, but equip local people with the tools and skills they need to grow trees, protect their land, and start viable businesses.

However, if you would prefer to support a conservation charity which works in Britain, with a focus on planting native woodland trees to encourage wildlife rather than on farming fruit trees, you might like to go to my JustGiving page and support my fundraising appeal for the Woodland Trust.
