Caroline and Abby are walking 50km, and Lizzie is walking 25km to raise money for The MND Association in memory of Janet Charters, who lost her battle with MND on 11 April 2023

On 11 April 2023 I lost my mum to Motor Neurone Disease. A neurologist delivered her diagnosis to us an hour or so before she passed away. Her various symptoms were initially dismissed as old age by health care professionals and it wasn't until she had issues breathing, and staying awake, that she was admitted to hospital and an A&E doctor spotted the fasciculations (twitching and rippling sensations under her skin), which are one of the symptoms of MND.

On 6 April 2024 I will walk 25km in mum's memory and in aid of The MND Association which focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
