Elisabeth's fundraiser for British Hen Welfare Trust

Chocolate-free March
Last year the BHWT had its most successful year to date, re-homing over 70,000 hens over 12,000 adoptions. We also continued our campaign work to encourage shoppers to buy free range eggs, and make sure the eggs in their processed foods were free range too. But our work doesn't stop there. This year we'll be working on ways to improve veterinary knowledge when it comes to treating pet hens as well starting work on the UK's first dedicated hen welfare and education centre. It's all to ensure our feathered friends enjoy a free range future.
We had the profound joy of caring for some ex-batt rescue hens for a few years before we moved house and discovered a fox's den in the garden. Now we can no longer care for our own, this fundraising is another way to help more of these amazing creatures live out their lives in peace
