Eli's fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust

On November 20th 2023, I heard the devastating news that I have cancer. An aggressive form of non Hodgkin’s lymphoma called Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, meant I needed to start treatment straight away.
I went through intensive chemotherapy for 7 months with 140 treatments consisting of IV, Intrathecal, Intramuscular and Oral chemotherapy. I am currently undergoing 2 years of maintenance chemotherapy, but with good scan results I am delighted to say that I am currently in remission.
After my diagnosis my entire life changed. I lost all my independence and was completely reliant on my family to care for me. All of a sudden I wasn’t able to do the things I love such as swimming, walking my dog and running.
As I was 24 when diagnosed, I was lucky enough to be able to join the Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Trust ward. This meant I was able to receive support from my clinical nurse specialist Fiona, and my youth support coordinator Nicola, as well as make use of the amazing facilities in the activity hub.
I am so grateful to TCT. The kindness and compassion I received from my support team made coming in for treatment that little bit easier. When I had low moments, they were always there to make sure I had the resources and support I needed.
I am therefore running the London Marathon 2025 to say a massive thank you to TCT for everything they do for young people with cancer and my amazing support team who got me through my treatment. I would be so grateful for any donation you can give for this amazing charity.
