Story
Following the devastating news surrounding James Baldock and his diagnosis of Motor Neurone disease (MND) back in March; myself, Dom Trett, George Alton and Michael Waller have signed up for the 3 peaks challenge! Not only does the team want to complete the challenge but there is a huge motivation to complete the challenge within a 24 hour time period.
Motor Neurone Disease is a Neuro Degenerative Disease (NDD) which essentially means James' central nervous system is unable to send signals to his motor neurones, which are critical to be able to move limbs and control movement. There is no cure for MND.
The MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association) focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by motor neurone disease in England, Wales and Northern Ireland By sponsoring MNDA with your money, it will help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease.
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, often within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft). Snowdon, in Wales (1085m), Scafell Pike, in England (978m) & Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1345m).
James, Jim, Balders.. has and will always be, a stalwart at our Cricket Club and at the heart of so many different social backgrounds. He has given his full support of the challenge and would love to see as many donations as possible for such a wonderful charity and one now close to home for all of us.
Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the MND Association. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure, your details are safe - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Thank you again!
