Story
Many of you know that I've recently lost my dad (aged 55) due to complications arising from heart surgery. Just over a year before him, his brother passed away after similar surgery addressing a valve issue. I've just received the news that I also have a congenital heart condition- a bicuspid aortic valve. This shouldn't affect me too much whilst I'm young, but is likely to require surgery in the future. Considering recent events, that's a little terrifying! Medicine has come so far, but there is still so much research to be done. That's why I've chosen to run the Cardiff Half Marathon in support of Heart Research UK. I'm hoping to raise a minimum of £350 by the 1st of October. Please share and repost. Any donations are appreciated and even a pound will make a difference.
