Extreme Abseil · 3 May 2025 to 4 May 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Hello everyone Cheryl and Eleana here!
May 4th 930, We're being brave and Zipping down Ipswich Hospital's 135 feet high Maternity block in aid of Staff Wellbeing.
Staff wellbeing has been a hot topic for our department, This year Cheryl won ESNEFT award for staff wellbeing and we want to continue to raise awareness of the importance of looking after ourselves and each other!
Our Challenge:
We all know the universal challenges over the past few years for all staff! Short staffing, winter illness, building works the list goes on. But as staff we march on forward forever bettering out practice to be the best we can be for our patients and colleagues.
Post Covid, the hospital started some fantastic building improvement works. during that time our Rheumatology clinic and offices, like many others, have moved home several times.
Although supported by many other fabulous departments we have yet been able to settle down to our home space. We lost many things like staff conveniences, display areas, plants and the ability to display the results for all of the fabulous research and quality improvement projects that Rheumatology have completed.
Moving house is hard!!
We Hope:
Sometime in the near future the plan is to be finally settled into the Garret and Anderson building.
We wanted to raise as much money as possible so that funds can be used to make our space as comfortable and welcoming for our longstanding patients and staff.
From Plants, wall art to tea bags or day light lamps for dark offices. We want to raise as much as possible for staff wellbeing and comfort as well all know even the smallest things can make us all feel appreciated.
thank you to all who donate. If your in the area come along and cheer us on!!
Every foot will count towards fundraising for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity. They are the official NHS charity of East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. We have highlighted our donation for the Rheumatology department in our application.
