Polar Plunge · 17 February 2024

We’re calling on all hardy souls to swim 50m in the freezing waters of the Sandford Parks Lido in Cheltenham on Saturday 17th February 2024. Why? All the money you raise will help us support grieving children, young people and their families.

Story

Winston’s Wish is a charity that helps children, young people and families to find their feet when their worlds are turned upside down by grief.

Elaine, Clare, Annabel, Sue.R. & Sue.F.S. are taking on this challenge.

By the time we do this Polar Plunge Fundraiser it will be 6 months since Steve passed away. Faith and Emily started accessing Winston’s Wish a few months ago, they have been given support and someone they can talk too, they have made memory boxes and books which is also helping them with their grief and I’m sure there will be many more moments when they need to get the support that Winston’s Wish offer.

Through information, on-demand services, bereavement support and counselling, we support young people to understand their feelings, process their grief and find ways to move forward with hope for a brighter future.

We also help the adults who are caring for young grieving people including parents, school staff and healthcare professionals.
