Story
I am fundraising for East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals' Charity!
In March of this year, my granddaughter, Isla, was born 10 weeks early at the Lister Hospital, Stevenage. She weighed a tiny 2lb 2oz, 963g.
Isla spent 6 long weeks in the neonatal unit, where she was so very well cared for. A very traumatic experience for everyone, especially mum and dad, but helped by the love, care and support from all the staff within the unit.
Isla was on breathing support, along with all the other equipment to help her thrive and grow and now weighs 10lb 11oz and is 6 months old.
When the time comes for parents to take their little one home the unit offers the use of ‘parent rooms’. A vital facility to allow anxious parents to stay overnight on the unit, with staff close by for additional support.
The four parent rooms are in need of refurbishment and I am going to do a skydive to help raise funds for these much needed rooms. This is my way of saying a huge thank you to the NHS who cared so lovingly towards my granddaughter , Isla.
Any donation that you can make is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
