Story
On March 9th I am running in the Cambridge Half Marathon in support of Isabel Hospice, to help them continue to deliver their vital palliative care services to anyone in eastern Hertfordshire who needs them. I am also running in memory of my Mum, Julie, who passed away in October 2023. The Isabel Hospice were so supportive in making that process as comfortable and pain-free as possible for my Mum and for us as a family.
Their palliative care and support services are done through their Hospice at Home Team, In-Patient Unit, Community Team, Living Well with Isabel programme, and their Family and Bereavement support service.
To be able to continue to provide their services free of charge to those who need them, they need to raise £7 million every year. The NHS fund 30% of this, the rest relies on the community, government grants, and their retail stores.
My Mum helped me learn how to walk - now, it is fitting that I will run to celebrate both her memory, and the good work that Isabel Hospice do.
I would be very grateful for any support towards my fundraising goal. Please also share the page amongst friends and family!
Finally, do come back to the page as I will be posting regular updates as I prepare for the run!
