Story

🚵‍♀️ • 1 1 - 19 JUNE • 8 days • 1,100 km • 61,814 Ft ! • 🚵‍♀️

Hello All. So. I'm doing it again...

8 days cycling up and over the mountains, 1000km+ and 60000ft+ up to arrive at Cannes on the 19th of June. All to support research into blood cancers.

After two tours, I can't pretend I don't love riding with this amazing bunch of humans, but I know what I'm up against - it's a very hard physical challenge (I think the "not knowing what's coming" of my first ride will always be mentally the hardest - photo 2 below is me having that realisation in 2019!)

So I know it will be tough, but far, far more importantly, I know just how vital the work of Blood Cancer UK and the Hammersmith Hospital is.

I'll be riding again with my dad, Mike. His name will be on my frame to inspire me when I'm "head down". This year, we've been able to back a specific project (https://bloodcancer.org.uk/research/research-projects/finding-new-and-kinder-treatments-for-diffuse-large-b-cell-lymphoma/), which is research and a trial into a promising new treatment that produces fewer treatment side effects in patients.

The team will ride to Hammersmith Hospital before the tour and meet those who do the vital research. They are so grateful for our support, and when you see me in person, I can tell you more from that trip.

It remains the case that the 'accessibility' of cancer cells in blood cancers means that research and treatments developed to combat it have a good chance of helping with other cancers.

Please support me if you can. I'm self-funding the ride, and every penny donated will go to BloodCancer UK and the team at Hammersmith.

Thank you.

Much love to you all.

Ed
