Story
Hi,
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
After a bit of a break last year I'm back in my trainers walking silly distances again. This year I've signed up for three, a short 26 mile walk along the River Thames in January, a slightly more scary 75km walk across the Lake District in May that has to be completed in under 24 hours and then a 55km walk around Newcastle in July. You can find out more about these walks here...

This year I've decided to fundraise for not one but three charities that are important to me - Bowel Cancer UK, The Willow Foundation and WAY Widowed and Young. I know times are tough and each of us has less spare change in our pockets but if you do feel like sponsoring me it'll make each walk that bit easier (especially when I'm no doubt up the top of the hill in the pitch black considering my life choices!!)
This page is for donating to WAY Widowed and Young but here's a little bit about each charity...
Willow is a wonderful charity that helps people, aged 18-40 and faced with a terminal diagnosis, a day or weekend away. For Heather they arranged a weekend in London with afternoon tea, a theatre trip and overnight stay in a hotel. If anything lifted her out of the horribleness that is chemo and facing her fate it was that weekend, I owe them so much.

Bowel Cancer UK is another fabulous charity that funds targeted research, provides expert information and support to patients and their families, educates the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. As Heather died unexpectedly young from Bowel Cancer you can understand why I want to help them stop it from happening to others.

WAY Widowed and Young is a charity that provides peer to peer support for those widowed aged 50 or under, instantly providing a community of people who just "get it". This charity has literally helped me and many others survive grief when at our lowest.
