Story
I’ve never been the fittest but I was bullied into doing a 10k with someone from work…2 years ago I chucked up after running 500 metres. So I did that and I finished it. So I did another. I then fancied a half marathon….just to see what happened so I got an entry into Edinburgh half marathon. Then for my birthday I was bought an entry into Solihull half marathon…I then, in a mad moment entered the ballot for the Great North Run as it’s where I went to uni…never thought I would get a place…and I have. So there we have it…three half marathons
Edinburgh - May 26th
Solihull - 11th August
Great North Run - 8th Sept.
This is a massive challenge for me. It’s epic and if I am going to do it need motivation and a good reason to do it.
As many of you know, my mum died last August after a brave struggle against COPD. She fought and she fought against this horrible condition and in the end she won. My husband’s nan also suffers with the same.
1 in 5 of us will develop a lung condition during our lifetime. There's a new diagnosis every minute.
I'm fundraising for Asthma + Lung UK. They’re the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
Please dig deep. Hold me to my challenge and make something positive come out of this year of hell we are having. I will finish each one…I don’t care how slow I am, I don’t care if I’m crawling. For my mum I’m dragging myself over the finish line. So please, please did deep and thanks for reading.
