Story
Hi, my name is Eddy Clutton
Five years ago I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, an incurable bone marrow cancer. I received a number of months of chemo at Kettering General Hospital to prepare me for my first high dose chemo, melphalan, followed by a stemcell transplant in February 2019 at Leicester Royal Infirmary. This was successful and gave me about 24 months of remission.
In February this year I underwent my second and last melphalan/stemcell transplant. This has been successful and will give me another period of remission, up to an estimated 12 to 18 months.
This will be, unless new treatments are found, my last ever period of remission.
This is my motivation for the 3300mile(approx.) TOB unsupported charity bike ride I am to undertake. This is going to start on 29/07/23 from Immingham and take about 74 days. I will pay for all incurred costs, so all money raised will go to the list of charities above.
I hope you will be able to give generously for this endeavour to help support research into cancer and support others that face the challenge of Cancer as well.
