I'm taking on a 50 mile ultra marathon, running from Manchester to Liverpool, in a collaborative campaign for the Joey Beauchamp Foundation and Oxford United in the Community.

This special collaboration means a lot to me. As an Oxford United fan I grew up standing on the London Road watching Joey flying down the wing, a local hero with a special talent who fulfilled his dream of playing for his club.

Unfortunately he suffered with mental health and other challenges and sadly took his own life aged just 50. The Joey Beauchamp Foundation was set up in his honour with the aim that the residents of Oxfordshire who are affected by mental health issues receive the support they need. It is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals through dedicated outreach and initiatives

Oxford United in the Community is the Official Charity of Oxford United Football Club, and have such a positive impact across the county. Their aim is to use the power of football and the Oxford United badge to inspire happier, healthier and better-connected communities across Oxfordshire

The money raised will go to Oxford United in the Community, who partner with the Joey Beauchamp Foundation and will be used collaboratively to further their aims and make a positive impact on peoples lives.

Like Joey, Oxford United is my club. To be able to run in his name with the famous number 11 on my back raising money for the club charity is an honour.
