Story
In 2022 we lost my Dad, Paul, to Sporadic CJD at the untimely age of 60. Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease is a rare and fatal neurodegenerative disorder that affects the brain and nervous system. It can affect anyone, it's currently untreatable and ultimately fatal.
On July 27th I will be running the Lakeland 50 (don't be fooled - that's 50 hilly Lake District miles, not km!) in aid of The CJD Support Network.
CJD is an awful disease that can affect anyone and progresses at a scarily rapid rate - sadly death often occurs within weeks of diagnosis. The CJD Support Network is the only UK charity providing emotional and practical support for all forms of CJD & prion disease. They helped to organise and provide support, guidance & care for my Dad and our family as the illness progressed.
Any support you give will allow more families to be supported and continue to raise awareness of CJD.
