Hike - Slieve Foye Loop, 17 May 2024
We have purchased our first respite facility and named it Puffin Lodge. Now that we have made the purchase it will require your donations and funding for the years ahead. This is a respite for sufferers of pulmonary fibrosis and their families.

Story

We are a group of pharmacists working within GP practices in the East Antrim Federation, spanning from Whiteabbey to Larne, aiming to hike together to try and raise money for a charity that provides support for people living with Pulmonary Fibrosis in Northern Ireland and help with the upkeep of Puffin Lodge.

Puffin Lodge is a respite facility for people living with Pulmonary Fibrosis and their families that has been purchased through fundraising and donations from many people from all around Northern Ireland. It is hoped that many sufferers and their families will enjoy a break on the beautiful Antrim Coast. The Directors of Pulmonary Fibrosis NI are pleased that this facility is in place and only ask users to pay the cleaning fee after their use; there is no charge other than that. We are asking you to help with the ongoing maintenance, replacement and fees to keep this facility running; this is approximately £5,000 each year. Everyone in Northern Ireland suffering from this terrible disease deserves to get some respite and Pulmonary Fibrosis NI are the only charity providing this service. It is with your donations that we will ensure that at least 30 families will get a break each year.

We are going to hike around the challenging 8.5km Slieve Foye Loop in Carlingford on 17th May. Many of us have been training hard for the big day!

Please support us, all donations big or small will make a difference.
