Story
At aged just 29, my best friend, Sadie, got diagnosed with breast cancer. The rug was pulled out from underneath her and her family. I can't explain to you how incredibly brave and strong she is being, how she still manages to make quick witted comments about her experiences, how she is completely inspiring in her attitude and approach to a life altering illness. When we talked about raising money and awareness, we decided on CoppaFeel!
They are the first UK breast cancer charity to create awareness amongst young people, with the aim to instil a new healthy behaviour that could one day save a life. They are on a mission to ensure breast cancer is diagnosed early and correctly by getting the nation to check their boobs/chest regularly. They want to educate people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, encourage them to get to know what is normal for them and empower young people to have the confidence to see a doctor if they notice anything that isn't right for them.
So… I have since booked onto a half marathon which I’m working hard on training and have also been accepted onto the CoppaTrek with Gi! A mammoth 100km trek across the Brecon Beacons! I will be aiming to raise as much money and awareness as possible and all your kind words and help is completely brilliant and massively appreciated. Thank you. X
