Story
Friends, Dave Wardell and Duane McCreadie are organising a small team to complete the West Highland Way in Scotland in memory of Dave’s brother Rab Wardell, who tragically passed away only 2 days after winning the Scottish Mountain Bike Championship in 2022.
Legendary mountain biker Rab had completed the 100 mile rugged and hilly West Highland Way in an amazing 9 hours and 14 minutes. And although the team are certainly not trying to beat his time, they take on this great Scottish adventure in his memory to #ridelikerab while raising much needed funds for a charity close to the hearts of the team, as Duane’s son, Xander, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis in 2021.

The team is currently made up of: Matty Blayney, Yesten Smith, Richard McCullough, Chris Mattocks, Lowell McCreadie, Andrew McCullough, Andrew Hunter, Maurice Ruddock, Greig Mitchell, Dave Wardell and Duane McCreadie.
The ride is planned to leave Glasgow on Saturday 21st and arrive in Fortwilliam on Sunday 22nd September 2024.
If you would like to support us over the weekend of the event, put your company logo on our jerseys, or chat to us about riding with the team, please email us on: duane.mccreadie@hotmail.com
Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated for the charity.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.
Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all.
Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
