Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out to you all with a heartfelt appeal. I am currently fundraising for the Bristol and Weston Hospital Charity, which supports the NHS charity for University Hospitals of Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. This cause holds immense significance for me personally.

Allow me to share a glimpse of my journey. Since 2002, I've dedicated myself to serving as a staff nurse at the University Hospitals of Bristol and Weston NHS Trust. In 2006, I transitioned to the Intensive Care Unit, where I've remained ever since. Over the years, I've witnessed the NHS undergo significant transformations, especially during and after the pandemic.

The General Intensive Care Unit at the Bristol Royal Infirmary is meticulously designed and equipped to cater to the needs of critically ill patients, providing specialized monitoring and treatment. Recently expanded to accommodate patients from various specialties across the region, it now includes the newly commissioned collaborative Bristol ECMO service with North Bristol Trust. Our unit has cared for over 4000 patients, with their families often traveling great distances to be by their side.

Unfortunately, our current facilities fall short in providing the comfort and convenience that our patients' families deserve, especially during times of critical illness or in the final days of their loved ones' lives. To address this gap, I've embarked on a fundraising journey that is both personal and ambitious.

Starting on June 21, 2024, and spanning 60 days, my younger brother and I will embark on a remarkable journey, driving from Bristol to India, traversing approximately 20,000 miles and crossing 20 countries. Our aim is to raise a minimum of £10,000 for the Bristol Royal Infirmary, specifically to enhance the visiting facilities for our patients' families.

I firmly believe in the importance of providing not only adequate visiting facilities but also essential support services such as counselling and well-being services for our patients' families. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a significant impact on this worthy cause, one that is deeply meaningful to me.
