I was the first burned child helped by Children of Fire; indeed I and my adoptive Mum are the reason that the charity exists. I was burned at six months old in 1994, abandoned by my biological mother and left for dead. No one expected me to survive but I did. In April 2024 I turn 30 years old.

The charity has achieved amazing things, against the odds, again and again. Five hundred and forty children later, we’re still here.

But I need to raise money to keep us going. My Mum is getting older and one day she will no longer able to care for my needs - and "social care" really is not very caring at all. I am one of the very complicated ones, but there are others who will need help life-long as well.
