Story
This year's event takes place on Saturday 8th July with a 29-mile walk starting and ending in the pretty village of Hartington in the Peak District. The circular route winds through some of the best walking scenery in the UK with participants following the course of the old Leek and Manifold Light Railway along the Manifold Valley before returning via spectacular Dovedale, Biggin Dale and the picturesque Tissington Trail, before returning to Hartington via Pilsbury Castle.
As usual, the walk will be supported by our now-famous mobile tuck shop at regular checkpoints along the way to keep the walkers topped-up with food and fluids and medical supplies, before everyone retires for a well-earned pint in the pub at the end!
The Television Workshop
This year we are proud to be fundraising to support The Television Workshop. This BAFTA award-winning drama group and casting resource has its home in the centre of Nottingham, not far from CPMG's own headquarters and relies solely on external funding to keep it running.
The charity trains young people between the ages of 7 and 21 in all aspects of performance for television, film, radio and stage, with a particular focus on providing opportunities for aspiring young actors and actresses from less fortunate backgrounds. The organisation has many famous names among its alumni, including Vicky McClure, Bella Ramsey and Jack O’Connell.
We hope to raise in excess of £2,500 to support this fantastic charity - please help us to help them by donating generously if you can.
