Story

At RASA Merseyside, our mission has always been to provide life-changing support to survivors of sexual violence Sexual abuse. For years, we have been a safe haven for those in need, offering free, expert care to help survivors rebuild their lives. But right now, we face a critical moment, and we need your help more than ever.

A STORY OF HEALING: By Donna, How RASA CHANGED MY LIFE

When I think back to my childhood, the memories are heavy, tangled with confusion, fear, and silence. I was a victim of sexual abuse a reality that felt impossible to speak about, l was to scared. Let alone understand, at such a very young age. I carried that pain into adulthood, hidden beneath the surface, convincing myself I could manage it alone. But the truth was, I wasn’t living ; I was merely surviving.

Everything changed when I discovered RASA MERSEYSIDE a charity that has been supporting victims and survivors of sexual violence for 40 years. At a point when I felt utterly lost, RASA became a lifeline. Their counselling gave me a safe space to talk for the first time. I wasn’t met with judgement or pity -just understanding and compassion.

Through their support, I began to untangle the knots of Shame and self-blame that had kept me bound for years. The counsellors at RASA helped me reclaim my voice and, my past without fear, and for the first time, I felt free to envision a future defined not by what happened to me, but my strength, resilience, and healing.

But RASA’S work goes beyond my story. For four decades decades they have been a beacon of hope, offering a way forward for so many who feel trapped in silence. Yet like so many charities, they rely on donations to continue their vital work.

That’s why I’m raising vital funds for RASA. I want to ensure their doors remain open for every survivor who needs help. They gave me the tools to heal, and I want to give others the same chance.

Please could you support RASA MERSEYSIDE. Every donation no matter how small or large contributes to changing lives. Just like they changed mine and many others. Together we can ensure no survivor has to face their journey alone.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the amazing team especially my counsellor who helped me move on. RASA MERSEYSIDE 🩷 such a powerful team.

Thank you for reading and for supporting this incredible charity.
