An inspiring initiative is taking shape in Cairo, Egypt, as the Hands Up Project plans to open a dedicated educational space for Palestinian children.

The Hands Up Project, a UK-based charitable trust, connects children across the globe with young people in Palestine. Through a network of passionate volunteers, the project uses online interactions, drama, and storytelling to foster creativity, self-expression, and English language development. These skills not only open doors to future opportunities but also encourage mutual understanding and personal growth.

Over the past year, more than 100,000 Palestinians have crossed into Egypt, many of them children who have lost access to a full year of education. While live streamed online classes from the West Bank offer crucial support, there’s a growing need for more. The Hands Up Project aims to provide free in-person English sessions (and eventually other subjects too) in Cairo, helping children build skills and improve their chances of pursuing education or work abroad. We’ll focus particularly on the areas of the Palestinian curriculum that have been missed by so many, but will also respond to the particular needs of the leaners we work with.

With your support—whether large or small—we can make this vision a reality. By renting a space in Cairo, we’ll create a welcoming environment where students can come to learn. We’ll provide essential learning materials, refreshments, and snacks, ensuring that all children, regardless of their financial situation, can benefit from this volunteer-led, completely free initiative. Together, we can offer these children hope, skills, and a brighter future.

Please note, we've increased our crowdfunding target as we're ready to expand our educational offering to more children, now that we've established our foundations.

Rental of space - 25,000 EGP per month.

Gas - 100 EGP per month

Water - 100 EGP per month

Electricity - 800 EGP per month

Internet - 800 EGP per month

Educational delivery & material costs - 60, 000

Total cost for 6 months = 326,800 EGP
