Story
Myself, my family and friends are going to attempt Macmillan’s Mighty Hike across Eryri (Snowdonia) on May 25th this year.
My uncle Pete spoke to my Mum before she died about the charity hike and invited others to join him. She would have loved to witnessed the support for his idea and have even tried to join us in our last steps to the end. So that’s what we’re doing. Most will aim to finish the full marathon or half but we’ll all be doing it together in memory of my mum and to help Macmillan support more people as she was supported.
My mum was diagnosed with Stage Four Bowel Cancer and was treated for around 18 months before her death on the 5th December 2023. She lived her life fully until the end and was able to go on family holidays, trips, concerts and festivals during treatment. A variety of services supported my mum and my family but Macmillan especially.
Thank you for your support.
