Story
For the very first time Clatterbridge Cancer Charity supporters have the chance to ABSEIL down the side of the very Hospital that we support, Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Liverpool. On October 7th and 8th we will be abseiling down from the roof of the Hospital and raising funds to help the staff and patients of Clatterbridge.
My wife Pauline was a patient at Clatterbridge during this summer (2023). She received the best treatment possible but this horrible disease was inoperable. Pauline fought a long and hard battle, but sadly on Sunday 24th September she passed away at home after a final period of seven weeks of an 'End of Life' phase at home.
I wish to acknowledge the tremendous work undertaken by the staff at Clatterbridge and to help the many other patients who are suffering. Unfortunately Pauline became a victim of the disease but many people will survive and have a good quality of life in the future.
I hope to make my first ever abseil on Sunday 8th October 2023 which will be my 71st birthday.
