just to be clear I will not be cycling the whole way I may do a leg or part of a leg, my main duties are van driver/engineering support, but it should be a great event for a worthy cause. Any support is much appreciated Don B

Liam loved Rugby and played at Lymm RFC for over 30yrs. He hardly missed a game from the age of 15 to 45, resulting in him being placed second in the all-time senior team appearance table!

In addition to playing his rugby at Lymm RFC, Liam was also a big Munster Rugby fan and over a 20yr period would often travel over to Limerick (the birthplace of his parents and Thomond Park the home of Munster Rugby) with his brothers to watch his beloved team, whilst catching up with his extended family and enjoying the odd pint of the black stuff too!

Liam’s cause of death on 14th January 2024 was Prostate Cancer of which he had no symptoms. Treatment for back pain led to his prostate cancer diagnosis which by then had spread to his spine, hips and thighs. Liam’s cancer was at stage 4 when diagnosed aged 55 and he died in January 2024, aged 60 (RIP).

As early diagnosis of Prostate Cancer is so key to saving lives, we are keen to raise awareness and fundraise in Liam’s memory, so at Easter we’ll be cycling 250 miles from Lymm RFC to Limerick for Liam.
