I’m raising money for the WWF!
Hi! I’m Dom and I am a student at Bangor University studying Zoology with conservation who has been given an opportunity by ChooseaChallenge to go on an expedition to the Everest Base Camp in support of WWF with my fellow students here at Bangor as well as others from universities all over the UK.
The World Wildlife Fund has been at the forefront of global conservation for decades tirelessly working to protect the Earth’s most precious species and habitats, From the depths of the oceans to the highest mountain peaks, WWF is committed to ensuring a thriving planet for generations to come.
Raising money for the WWF now is more important than ever. We’re destroying forests, choking the oceans with plastic and causing devastating changes to the climate. In the time it takes to say deforestation, another chunk of forest the size of a football pitch is destroyed. That’s every two seconds, every day.
And in my support for the WWF I’m taking on the challenge of climbing up to Everest Base Camp (A whopping 17,598 feet above sea level!!). The trip to Nepal will take 19 days in total and will be a life-changing opportunity for me to see the world and explore a country like no other.
The expedition will take us through places such as Lukla, Namche Bazar, obviously Everest Base Camp and many other beautiful places.
To make this all possible, I’m aiming to fundraise £3990. All of the money will go directly to the WWF who will support me to be able to achieve my goals. It’s a large goal, but I know that together, we can achieve it!
Any donation no matter the size is very much appreciated!
Thank you! - Dom
