The Dart10k is the first, and arguably the finest, marathon-distance swim in the UK. The event captures the essence and ethos of the wild swimming community, combining a big-swim challenge with a journey and atmosphere like no other.

Story

I am swimming 10km down the River Dart September 2024. Twice...! That's 10,000m each day on the Saturday and Sunday....

I've upped the ante this time and decided to not only do the double, 10km on the Saturday and another 10km on the Sunday, but I'm also doing it skins this year.. (non wetsuit for those that don't know) Less buoyancy, slower speed & much harder work.

Whilst doing this I am raising money for my favourite charity, Level Water, so children with disabilities can enjoy the water as much as I do.

Just a few pounds, dollars or Baht can change a life. Please support me in this epic challenge by donating.

Level Water are an incredible charity that use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. Their dedicated lessons give a freedom to these kids that us able bodied folk take for granted.

I believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water, and I was lucky enough to witness the fruit of all their hard work last year at another event, The Bantham Swoosh. It was here that a small number of disabled kids that they had mentored and taught how to swim and be self sufficient in the water, swam a section of the Bantham river...! For the first time ever Level Water kids were swimming in the open water unaided. It was no small feat, requiring huge logistics and support teams in and out of the water, but the powerful sense of achievement was overwhelming.

Watching these amazing kids who have very limited or no mobility at all on dry land, actually swimming and moving themselves in the water, and their huge sense of freedom left everyone on the bank watching in awe.

I only mention this as it's all too easy to feel very disconnected from the reason for putting your hand in your pocket, especially when times are hard, but I hope giving a little context to the life changing work that Level Water do helps...

I'll be updating this page over the next couple of months, hopefully with pictures.. until then feel free to hit the donate button and share a bit of love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
