Story

Mental health effects so many people. I want to raise as much money as possible to go to this charity that can help people and stop them getting to the point where they think they only have one option left. I myself have PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) which has awful mental health effects.

Iam doing this in memory of a fella I had the pleasure of knowing who had the most amazing smile and a heart of gold, but tragically Dave took his own life in May 2016.

Iam very lucky to have my family and friends behind me and one of my best friends also is my coach Helen who owns Redhills Barn Fitness.

Talking of family my oldest son 8year old William was adamant he was going to run the marathon with me, I had to explain his young age and the many miles the marathon is just isn’t right for him to complete yet, so we have organised for the boys to do their own mini marathons at Redhills Barn Fitness at Penrith Auction Mart on 13th April 2024 and we are turning this into a fundraising event focused on kids mental health as that is sadly on the increase. There will be lots of activities for the kids to do and a kids raffle. The boys would love it if you could donate as William himself understands the mental health struggles. William watched myself stop a lad from jumping off a local motorway bridge a few years ago and he has never forgotten about it.

On 24th November at Penrith Rugby Club, got a bonkers bingo night with raffle and auction. £30 per ticket and that includes your chippy tea and one bingo card. We have The Chippie Van (Angel lane chippy) doing the food, Touch of Class Disco will be hosting the bonkers bingo and keeping the dance floor packed with all our favourite songs. We have specially guest dj, Chaz DJ attending to do a special set for us, Charlie is my cousins son and Dave was my cousins best man at his wedding. We have been incredibly lucky to have been supported by so many people and businesses with prize donations which I am blown away by. We have an amazing raffle prize list. Our auction will be hosted by a top auctioneer from Penrith Auction Mart, Andrew Maughan, some of the lots up for grabs include, a 3 night stay at Crossgate Luxury Glamping, a years supply of gingerbread from the famous Grasmere Gingerbread, a 2 night stay in one of the gingerbread houses at The Quiet Site, a weekend lodge stay in Loch Ness, a platinum package from PSR Experience driving their super cars, just to name a few. Contact myself for ticket sales or for more information about this event.

That’s just a few of the things we will have going on in the run up to my big day in London. I hate asking people for money and have never done such a big charity challenge like this myself so please if you can help me try to reach my target and help mental health I would be so appreciative of this.

Thank you

I don’t want another light to go out.
