Capital Construction Training Group is a collaborative, employer-led group of construction companies.

Our aim is to improve the welfare standards for the residents of Cardiff Dogs Home, ensuring the building is safe, clean and energy efficient.

The current drainage issues mean the floor stays wet after daily cleaning and staff have to dry it with towels.

The layout of the building means that dogs are often housed opposite each other, with narrow walkways connecting the kennels, causing significant stress to the animals.

Condensation in the winter leads to water dripping from the roof. Heating and lighting also require significant improvement to ensure a positive experience for residents, staff, volunteers and customers at Cardiff Dogs Home. The kennels are currently 10 years beyond their lifespan and need to be replaced.

We are calling all members to donate labour, materials or simply help with fundraising. Everyone and anyone can get involved!

Cardiff Dogs Home can take in up to 1000 dogs each year. Every one of these dogs deserves as much comfort as possible while they wait for their forever family to find them. At present, the kennels are quite a stressful environment for dogs who can be in kennels for up to 12 months until they find their forever home. The dogs need safe, warm spaces with as much privacy from other dogs as possible to make their stay at the hotel as comfortable as can be while they are at the hotel.
